A Temporary Dance floor; Get Portable

Though dance floors do come in many different shapes, sizes, and types of materials, one thing that is very often important when considering the purchase or rental of a dance floor is whether or not you can easily move the floor from place to place. Temporary dance floors are extremely popular additions to school functions, company parties, and wedding ceremonies.

Temporary dance floors are designed to withstand a lot of moving around, and are easily assembled and disassembled by a minimal amount of people. Temporary dance floors come in a large variety of materials, allowing you to choose the best one for your dance floor needs.

The assembly of a temporary dance floor is actually much easier than you might think. It doesn't take an expert who knows how to build a dance floor. Putting it together will take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours of your time, depending largely upon what types of materials were used in the making of the dance floor and how much it weighs.

A temporary dance floor that is made of vinyl laminate or sometimes even hardwood is very often assembled on a plastic frame. These dance floor panels typically only weigh a few pounds a piece and come in three by three sections, allowing for easy portability and assembly. The floor sections snap together on the frame, often in a tongue and groove type of assembly. After all of the base pieces which will make up your dance floor are laid, usually requiring at least two people to easily assemble the floor, there are trim pieces which fit along the outside perimeter of the floor, making it look more like a dance floor rather than something that was quickly assembled by a couple of people. These trim pieces also often facilitate the transition from the base floor to the dance floor area without having a step up or gap in between the two.

Dance floors which are on a hardwood base are a bit more taxing to put together and disassemble. They also work in a tongue and groove type of attachment to one another, but the panels are often much larger and much heavier, weighing up to twenty-five pounds per panel. They take more people to put together and more time to ensure that the panels line up exactly so that they do not slide apart during use. Other hardwood floors are made on an aluminum frame with the same size and weight of panels. These are a bit easier to assemble and disassemble than the other hardwood floors, but they require more in the way of manpower and actual assembly time as the frame pieces often have to be snapped or screwed together. This is a much more sturdy dance floor than the other type of hardwood floors, but they are heavier and harder to assemble. They also cost more to transport because of the large size and heavy weight of the individual panels, making them the least portable of all of the many different temporary floor types.
